Hyundai includes a vehicle for just about any segment

Hyundai’s spacious and quiet cabin has comfortable seats and ample space for five. Hyundai Azera 2023 is no longer marketed in the United States and Canada. The drivetrain is smooth, powerful, and fuel efficient. After the launch of the separate Genesis brand, Grandeur/Azera took its place as the company’s flagship. The sedan continued to be found in South Korea and the Middle East. As the Azera Grandeur, the Genesis was the flagship of Hyundai’s US and Canadian lineup until the sedan came along.

Unfortunately, Hyundai’s nascent image was soon tarnished by poor people durability and reliability of its vehicles. In 1998, Hyundai also purchased Kia, another Korean automaker, to expand its business and economies of scale. However, as opposed to abandon the American market in the ’90s, Hyundai thought we would invest heavily in new product designs and improvements in overall quality and reliability.

It all started to cover off by the start of the newest millennium, with the 2001 Elantra specifically showing massive improvements in overall quality, reliability and performance. Providing an extraordinarily long warranty period didn’t hurt either. Other models followed suit and the desirability of Hyundai cars increased sharply.

You can upgrade to Azera’s Limited trim for a few added comforts and some additional safety gear. 2023 Azera Grandeur adds 19-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights with automatic high beam control, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and forward collision warning systems, rear parking sensors, a panoramic sunroof, an electric rear sunshade, and manual side window sunshades.

By the late 1960s, Chung had turned his attention to the automobile industry. Still, Chung opted to follow along with his own convictions, and in 1967, he founded the Hyundai Motor Company. The Korean government during those times believed that it made more sense to import vehicles than produce them domestically, and had made its opinion known.

The Hyundai Genesis sedan is seen by auto journalists as a competitor to the aforementioned full-size and near-luxury vehicles, with the Azera positioned against the likes of the Ford Taurus, Toyota Avalon, and Buick LaCrosse. While handling is improved, the 2023 Hyundai Azera Grandeur still lacks agility, and its ride quality lags behind the expectations set by its looks and the class it’s trying to play.

Door pockets, center console, and glovebox storage are average for the class. The trunk’s gooseneck hinges are concealed to be able to not smash objects placed in the trunk. The optional panoramic sunroof eats up a lot of headroom. The Azera has ample cargo volume with 16.3 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk, but that’s really almost the class average. Right in the midst of the large sedan segment, the Azera has decent trunk space, average small-item storage, and a 60/40-split folding rear seat for transporting larger items. There’s plenty of space within the Azera and plenty of upscale trimmings, but hard plastics give the otherwise-luxurious cabin a cheap feel.

The conventional safety features include electronic stability control, antilock brakes, traction control, and a rearview camera. While this Azera is suitably loaded with features and remained competitively priced, our testers felt it no longer represented a bargain. Parking assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, Hyundai Azera 2023 forward collision warning, and lane-departure warning are available as options.

The vehicle made its debut in 1974, and the following year Hyundai began exporting it to overseas markets. The business quickly established an alliance with one of many industry’s oldest automakers, signing a two-year contract with Ford in 1968 to talk about assembly technology. The manufacturer’s first car to be designed and built-in Korea was the compact Pony (although the car was predicated on Japanese technology courtesy of Mitsubishi). Hyundai’s first car, the Cortina, was created from that partnership.

The Grandeur has evolved through five generations with intermediate restyling and is marketed under various nameplates worldwide—prominently whilst the Hyundai Azera. Whilst the Azera, it had been the flagship of Hyundai’s US and Canadian lineup before arrival of the Genesis sedan. After the launch of the separate Genesis brand, the Grandeur/Azera resumed its place whilst the company’s flagship. The Grandeur was the flagship for Hyundai’s South Korean range ahead of the Hyundai Dynasty was introduced. The 2023 Hyundai Azera Grandeur can be an executive sedan manufactured and marketed by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai.

Standard equipment carries a 3.3-liter V6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The lowest trim level on the Azera might be called the beds base, but don’t let that fool you. In testing, the Azera went from zero to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds, which is average for large sedans with a V6. The six-speed automatic might not shift especially quickly, but it does so with uncommon smoothness. Azera includes a lot of features.  The 293-horsepower V6 is gutsy, and it moves the big sedan around with authority. The Azera’s 3.3-liter V6 is a successful powertrain, and the suspension does a decent job of balancing ride quality with handling precision.
